If you (or someone you know) worked in 2019, and earned less than $55,000, then you may qualify for free tax service through the Fairfax County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
The tax service is provided by community volunteers who are designated by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as certified tax preparers. They will ensure that you receive the maximum tax refund and help determine if you are eligible for tax credits. Last year, families throughout Northern Virginia received over $7.6 million in federal refunds, and saved more than $1.3 million in professional filing fees through this free service.
