Heather and her family rebuild with affordable housing
Heather and her husband were both in their careers for over a decade when layoffs, soaring childcare expenses, and other unforeseen circumstances left them in a situation where they would lose their house.
“We made too much to qualify for any subsidy, but we didn’t make enough to afford it,” she said. “Before you knew it a drip just became this big river and we lost everything. We went from being volunteers to needing services.”
