Fairfax County Celebrates the Grand Opening of Ovation at Arrowbrook

Updated: May 22, 2023

The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority, SCG Development, members of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, and project partners gathered on May 17, 2023, to celebrate the grand opening of Ovation at Arrowbrook. This new development features 274 EarthCraft Gold designed affordable apartment homes with 38,000 square feet of community retail space that will be home to a grocery store, bakery, a brewery, and more. Located adjacent to the Arrowbrook Centre Park, residents of Ovation can enjoy easy access to playgrounds, athletic fields, an outdoor entertainment pavilion and a dog park. The property’s 10,000 square feet of amenity space houses a fitness center, business center, club and entertainment rooms, and a private courtyard and free garage parking.

Located in the Dranesville District, the property is approximately a mile from the Innovation Metro Station and within proximity to Dulles Airport, the Route 28 corridor, and much more, highlighting the criticality of locating affordable housing options near economic development hubs.

“Ovation at Arrowbrook demonstrates that with creativity and perseverance, as a community we can deliver homes that are not only affordable but also transit-oriented, have green building standards, offer recreational spaces and retail, and more. All of which are critical in attracting and retaining our workforce.”
- Jeffrey C. McKay, Chairman, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors

“Investments in affordable housing align with the County’s Strategic Plan, support the Board’s commitment to equity, and strengthen our local economy. As a Board, we have stood behind our goal of increasing the stock of affordable housing by effectively utilizing every dollar possible and leveraging funds to their fullest.” - John Foust, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Dranesville District

Ovation at Arrowbrook will serve households at 30% to 60% of the Area Median Income level and will also have specific units dedicated to support individuals living with a disability.

“Our collective ability to leverage financial resources - local dollars, tax credits, federal and state project-based rental assistance – is second to none. As Chair of the FCRHA and the representative from the Dranesville District, I am so proud to be a partner in this endeavor and I look forward to more great work ahead.”
- Melissa McKenna, Chair, Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority
